Brooklyn Beckham and wife Nicola Peltz made sure all eyes were on them during Paris Fashion Week, stepping out for a series of photo opportunities and interviews. But while Brooklyn stood loyally by his wife’s side, his estranged family were also out in full force in the French capital supporting Victoria at her fashion show.
Now, heat has been told that Nicola’s experience in Paris has reignited her desire to follow in her mother-in-law’s footsteps and become a designer herself – a move those close to the Beckhams are considering an ‘act of war’.

‘Nicola has come away from Paris Fashion Week feeling more inspired than ever to start her own clothing range,’ says an insider. ‘She absolutely loved coordinating outfits with Brooklyn and catching a few shows, and she’s decided that’s the direction she wants her career to be moving in from now on.’
The source adds that despite this seemingly blatant power play, Posh is trying to maintain the moral high ground. We’re told, ‘Vic has said that if Nicola wants to try and compete with her then let her, because she’s more than confident she will win.’

Victoria, 52, returned to the French capital for the fourth year running to showcase her latest collection, with husband David, 51, proudly cheering her on from the front row. She was also supported by their sons Romeo, 24, and Cruz, 21 – who were joined by their girlfriends Kim Turnbull and Jackie Apostel – as well as their 15-year-old daughter Harper. Just a mile away, Brooklyn, 27, was spotted at a separate fashion event alongside Nicola, 31, marking yet another near-miss for the estranged family as their bitter feud continues to simmer.
Victoria has spent nearly two decades carefully building her eponymous fashion brand, which she started in 2008. It has now become an industry powerhouse after it recorded a profit of £7.3 million last year. Meanwhile, Nicola – who is the daughter of billionaire investor Nelson Peltz – had been forging a career in Hollywood as an actress and director, although she has fronted a number of high-profile fashion campaigns for brands including Moncler and Balenciaga. And while the heiress has big plans to pivot into the fashion space, our source says VB isn’t bothered.

‘Vic has worked hard to earn her fashion stripes, and if this is just a ploy to cause more drama and headlines, she thinks it’s really sad,’ our source says. ‘Nicola’s been in talks with Balenciaga about doing a collaboration and also wants to do her own line. She’s laser-focused on it and would love to have her own show in Paris by next season.’
The source goes on, ‘Vic doesn’t see Nicola as any sort of competition. She feels like Nicola is goading her by trying to step into her territory, but Vic says, “Bring it on”. She would never badmouth Nicola in fashion circles – she doesn’t need to. It takes years to earn the respect of someone like Anna Wintour, who champions Vic, so all Victoria thinks is, “Best of luck”.’
It wouldn’t be the first time the pair have clashed over fashion. The family feud came to a head in January when Brooklyn alleged in a damning six-page statement that his mum cancelled making Nicola’s wedding dress at the 11th hour – before he cut ties with his family altogether.
The source adds, ‘Vic hated the fact Brooklyn was only a few miles down the road from her when she was having a proud moment with her family at her show. But Nicola doesn’t think she or Brooklyn should hold themselves back from any opportunity because of some family feud, or the fact that it might upset Victoria’s feelings. She’s going full steam ahead with this.’
