Dakota Johnson shared details about her bond with her Verity costar Anne Hathaway. She also revealed the compliment she received from Hathaway for her premiere look, wherein she wore a white, midriff-baring custom Calvin Klein outfit.
Dakota Johnson opens up about bonding with Anne Hathaway while filming Verity
In a conversation with Extra, Johnson said what Hathaway’s reaction was to her premiere look. She said, “Annie just told me that I look like a sexy icicle.” The interviewer, Mona Kosar Abdi, further shared how both actresses share a similar sense of humor. To this, Johnson replied, “I think we bring out the, like, kind of playful and naughty side of each other… She’s so funny, so smart, so kind, and we just had the best time making this movie.”
Abdi further added that Johnson’s portrayal was so twisted in the movie that it made her question whether her character should be included in the villain conversation. For those unversed, the actress plays Loen in the movie. She admitted that, according to her, Loen is in fact a villain. “She’s a psychopath. She’s a psycho,” she added.
The actress also spoke about the opening blood scene. “We had we did that in one take. So that was just one shot, and then it took me the rest of the day to…I think I took three showers.”
Verity follows a struggling writer who is contacted by Jeremy Crawford, the husband of bestselling author Verity Crawford. She is asked to complete a book series that Verity couldn’t finish due to a mysterious incident.
While staying at Verity’s home and going through her work, she comes across a hidden manuscript, which makes her question Verity’s mental state and whether her writings had any truth to them.
