The Musée des Arts Décoratifs lit up after hours on Monday, the first night of Paris Fashion Week. There, guests gathered to commemorate the legacy of legendary jewelry designer Jean Schlumberger, who is the subject of a new conservation partnership between the institution and Tiffany & Co. “I Am Only a Pencil,” an immersive temporary presentation at the museum featuring 100 original drawings and other designs from Schlumberger’s archive, offered a veritable A-list roster of attendees a peek at the collaborative effort.

The Scene: An intimate dinner celebrating the start of the four-year partnership, which aims to preserve the ephemera of the late Tiffany & Co. designer’s practice for a new generation of designers, artists, and acolytes of the house. Glimmering examples of his designs were illuminated in display cases for attendees, many of whom donned similarly stunning precious gems that reflected back at them in the glass.

The Locale: The Christine and Stephen A. Schwarzman Fashion Galleries at the museum, in Paris’s fashionable 1st arrondissement, minutes from the Louvre and the Jardin des Tuileries.

The Crowd: A mix of entertainers and artists, including actors Amanda Seyfried, Cynthia Erivo, Anya Taylor-Joy, Diane Kruger, Chase Sui Wonders, Greta Lee, Adria Arjona, Camille Cottin, and Alison Oliver; models Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and Valentina Ferrer; musicians Sebastián Yatra and Joanne Tseng; Moda Operandi co-founder and Artistic Director of Tiffany Home Lauren Santo Domingo; and style authority Derek Blasberg, all wearing Tiffany & Co. designs, of course.

Food and Drink: Guests enjoyed a multicourse meal from chef Romain Meder of the Michelin-starred Paris restaurant Prévelle, while learning more about the house’s ambitious plan to conserve and digitize more than 5,000 original drawings and 5,000 archival documents, creating a state-of-the-art library of Schlumberger’s work.
