The local entertainment industry and the entire nation mourn the profound loss of beloved icons who left an indelible mark on the hearts of the Filipino people. Over the past year, the showbiz community and the public have bid a poignant farewell to pillars of broadcasting and television, including veteran Super Radyo DZBB anchor and journalist Jimmy Gil, and acclaimed director Monti Parungao, who helmed some of the country’s biggest reality properties like ‘Survivor Philippines’ and ‘StarStruck.’
Joining them in eternal rest are veteran actors Bing Davao, Vangie Labalan, Erlinda Villalobos, and Sue Prado, who were faces of immense talent and dedication. The industry also looks back with deep gratitude at the lasting contributions of silver-screen icons Pepito Rodriguez and Raoul Aragon, alongside the pioneering theater visionary Enchang Kaimo.
In every story of success, the industry also grieves the premature silencing of vibrant voices who brought endless joy and inspiration to our Kapuso households. The timeless laughter brought by ‘Iskul Bukol’s’ Tonette Macho and stand-up comedian Arnell Tamayo will forever remain gold in the history of Filipino comedy. There is also immense heartbreak over the young, brilliant talents taken far too soon, the historic Mr. Chinatown Randy See and drag pioneer Misua, both of whom left a shining example of artistry and passion. In every scene, every newscast, and every smile they shared, we continue to celebrate their lives.
