M. Night Shyamalan has a brand new movie releasing in theaters next year, but that isn’t stopping the director from talking about the movie he has planned for after that.
In a recent upload to his own YouTube channel, Shyamalan revealed that he had already begun working on the movie that will come out after his next movie, Remain. Titled “I Started Writing My Next Movie Today,” Shyamalan revealed that he already has a title in mind, and showed off the notebook he had picked to write in.
“I started to work on the outline for my next movie today,” Shyamalan said. “I’ve been writing in this notebook for a long time but today I began the process of actually turning it into my next movie. I’m excited to bring you all along for this journey and process, sharing how I feel as I write, storyboard, then shoot, and everything until this movie is in theaters.”
The video also sees the director going through his writing process a bit, explaining how he shares different thoughts into the notebook before refining it. He also noted that the movie he’s writing is something he’s had on his mind “for years,” and is excited to get it going.
M. Night Shyamalan’s Remain releases in theaters next year
Before Shyamalan’s next movie releases, his latest movie, Remain, will release on February 5, 2027. The movie is a bit of a different take for Shyamalan, as it sees him working with acclaimed author Nicholas Sparks, as the pair collaborated on the story.
Remain stars Jake Gyllenhaal and Phoebe Dynevor, and follows the story of an architect, Tate Gordon, heading to Cape Cod to design a home for his best friend. Battling depression, Gordon meets a young woman that throws his world into chaos as he’s still reeling from the death of his sister.
Remain also stars Ashley Walters, Julie Hagerty, Jay O. Sanders, Tracy Ifeachor, Hannah James, Caleb Ruminer, Kieran Mulcare, Maria Dizzia, and Shyamalan.
