The dream of overnight wealth can easily turn into a nightmare if risk isn’t taken into account.
According to mStar, a Malaysian man recently took to social media to share his overwhelming regret after accumulating roughly RM270,000 in debt from foreign exchange (forex) trading.
“Call me stupid or whatever”
Expressing his frustration and despair, the man admitted he is now heavily burdened by financial stress and finds it nearly impossible to see a way out.
It’s true that forex can kill you. I’m currently around RM270,000 in debt because of forex. Call me stupid or whatever, I regret it deeply, but there’s nothing I can do now,” he shared.

He added that he feels completely lost on how to continue living, noting that sharing his story with others yields little sympathy.
Left with only RM400 a month
To make matters worse, the man revealed that despite working round the clock, most of his income goes straight toward debt repayments, leaving him with almost nothing.
I work tirelessly 24 hours a day, but after paying everything, I’m left with only RM400,” he lamented.
Desperate to rebuild his life, he asked for job recommendations that might help him get back on his feet, though he admitted he doesn’t hold a valid driving or motorcycle licence.
Family left in tears
The emotional toll has extended to his family, who were heartbroken upon learning about his situation. However, he noted that public perception remains harsh.
I pray every day. When I told my family, they were sad, crying, and worried. I feel extremely guilty, but people won’t understand. They’ll just say, ‘If you know you’re poor, why trade and take loans just to trade?’”
Looking back, the man expressed immense regret over not appreciating his previous financial stability and urged others not to make the same mistakes.
If I could turn back time, I wouldn’t want to be in this stupid situation. I should have been grateful for what I had,” he confessed.
He ended his post with a warning to others, sharing how exhausted he feels mentally and emotionally.
I advise everyone to be thankful for the income they have. I’m tired of feeling this way. There are times I feel like giving up on life, but I have to stay strong for my family,” he added.
