Victoria Beckham proves beachy waves make an elegant evening hairstyle – here’s how to recreate the easy look

Victoria Beckham has many talents. Dressing like money has never been an issue, holding a microphone with the confidence of someone who knows the backing track has her covered, and making tousled mermaid waves look like a sophisticated beach-to-bar hairstyle. And while I’m sure you’d love to master the art of mic-holding (and strategically timed lip-syncing), today we’re focusing on the hair – which, thankfully, is much easier to nail, anyway.

In her latest Instagram post, Victoria was in New York City with her husband, David Beckham, celebrating the opening of her latest Victoria Beckham store in the Big Apple. Naturally, the outfit was suitably chic, but it was her hair that had me zooming in for a closer look.

With plenty of movement, a glossy finish and just the right amount of texture, her hair looked polished without feeling remotely overdone. Better still, it had that elusive undone-but-expensive quality that makes a simple hairstyle feel worthy of an evening reservation somewhere with a dress code.

Posh Spice? More like Poseidon Spice!

Now, not only does the hairstyle look good, but it doesn’t require a technical blow-dry appointment or a celebrity hairstylist to create. If you’re after a heat-free approach, braid your hair before bed and unravel the plaits in the morning for soft, natural-looking waves. Prefer a bit more control? Use straighteners to create loose bends, twisting your wrist as you glide down each section. Or, for the easiest approach, reach for a hair waver. It gives more uniform, beach-inspired texture in just a few clamps.

So, whether you’re heading to the beach or the bar (or even the beach bar), VB’s waves have you covered for all occasions. BRB, I’m off to make some waves of my own…
