Ryan Phillippe teased that a potential reunion could happen between him and his I Know What You Did Last Summer costar, Jennifer Love Hewitt. However, he stopped short of confirming it. The actor is all set to debut as Rogue Kelly in 9-1-1: Nashville, whereas Hewitt has been part of the original franchise for many years. The actor hinted that a crossover between the two shows could be a possibility.

During a conversation on Good Morning America, weather anchor Sam Champion brought up the topic of Love Hewitt being on 9-1-1, the spin-off that Phillippe joined recently. He asked, “There’s sometimes where they take two shows together, and they make a little crossover. Could you see a crossover with you guys? What would that look like?”
Joking about a potential 9-1-1 x 1997 film crossover, longtime GMA star Lara Spencer said, “I Know What You Did Last Summer in Nashville?” Phillipe wittily said that he “could see that” crossover and teased that maybe it could happen. Champion and Spencer were surprised by his answer. But Phillipe immediately corrected, ” I said maybe!”
In an earlier conversation with TV Insider, showrunner Rashad Raisani shared some insights into Phillipe’s character. He described Rogue Kelly as “a seductive bad boy with a past” who is set to add drama to the plot. He added that he would be involved in an investigation concerning “a mysterious criminal tormenting Nashville on a biblical scale.”
The creator also mentioned that Rogue might believe at first that his paths may have crossed with Blythe (Jessica Capshaw) at one point, but they may not have a history. “He’ll be playing this sort of maverick detective who comes in and he’s kind of a disruptor in a different way, and he’ll get in Don’s [Chris O’Donnell] craw, but he’ll also have a real affinity and friendship with Ryan [Michael Provost], Don’s son. And it will start almost this weird father-son triangle with somebody else,” he explained.
