Warning: spoilers follow for the 8 October episode of The Celebrity Traitors.

The Celebrity Traitors viewers reckon they’ve worked out who the expert Traitor Hunter of the series will be – and they’re absolutely delighted by it. Is the biggest threat to Maya Jama, James Acaster and Professor Hannah Fry actually Miranda Hart?

In scenes that aired tonight, the writer and actor immediately – and correctly – suspected Hannah had been recruited, and the Traitors seemed oblivious to her deductions.

At the end of the episode, she voiced her suspicions once more, much to the delight of fans at home.

“If Miranda manages to stay under the radar till the end I can imagine her being a Traitor Hunter,” one person remarked on X. “I think people forget that comedians are insanely smart, and she’s already onto Hannah with credible evidence!”

“Miranda. F**ing. Hart. Traitor hunter. God I love this woman,” beamed someone else.

A third predicted: “detective miranda is about to take down all the traitors single handed they should have recruited her…”

The star has gone down a storm with fans of the BBC behemoth, to the point where several are calling for her sitcom to be rebooted.

Miranda, which won a Royal Television Society award and earned several nominations at the BAFTAs, ran from 2009 to 2013, with a bonus pair of specials airing over Christmas and New Year in 2014-2015.

“I hope Miranda Hart wins Celebrity Traitors and the BBC see how popular she was so they renew Miranda for a reboot series,” one person commented.

One of her quick-witted confessional clips had someone else saying: “In honour of this clip anyone else in need of a Miranda reboot?”

Yet another fan posted: “I just love Miranda being on this show so much… I’ve missed her being on our screens #celebritytraitors.”

Tonight’s episode opened with the widely-predicted banishment of Richard E Grant, after he literally confessed to being a Traitor within moments of the game starting.

The result meant that, for the first time ever on the UK version of the show, the Faithfuls managed to catch a Traitor on their very first attempt.

The episode ended with Hannah, James and Maya deciding who to murder next; narrowing the choices down to James Blunt, Bella Ramsey and Sebastian ‘Bash’ Croft.

The Celebrity Traitors airs on BBC One and streams on BBC iPlayer.
