Porsche makes unique and expensive espresso machines that are still selling out.

This isn’t the first time Porsche has ventured into products outside the automotive industry. A few years ago, the German automaker collaborated on an espresso machine and quickly sold out all units within just 8 hours of going on sale, despite the price tag of $7,000 (nearly 180 million VND).

In a new collaboration, Porsche has partnered with La Marzocco, a high-end Italian coffee machine manufacturer, to introduce the special edition Linea Micra. This product is designed to celebrate the Porsche 911 Carrera RS 2.7, one of the brand’s most iconic models.

The most notable feature is the distinctive ducktail spoiler of the 911 Carrera RS 2.7, which is reproduced on the cup holder above the engine. In addition, the product boasts paint colors, typography, and identifying details inspired by Porsche sports car design.

The pressure gauges feature red and green needles, while the dial displays the symbols RS and 2.7. A limited edition numbering plaque with the inscription “One of 911” is affixed to the side of the device, emphasizing its collectible nature.

Porsche and La Marzocco offer three color options. In the US market, customers can choose between white and green or orange and black, with only 911 units produced in each color scheme. The German market also offers a white and blue version, mimicking the colors of the original 911 Carrera RS 2.7, limited to just 150 units.

Priced at $7,911 before tax (over 205 million VND), this coffee machine isn’t for everyone. However, besides its distinctive Porsche design, the product is equipped with many features to meet professional brewing needs.

Essentially, this special edition is developed based on the La Marzocco Linea Micra platform. The machine has a flexible coffee filter handle, supporting various brewing styles such as single spout, double spout, or bottomless.

Users can connect to the app to adjust water temperature and set operating schedules. The water tank has a capacity of 2 liters and comes with an LED lighting system to assist with use. These details help the product not only serve as a display item but also meet the needs of brewing espresso at home.

In addition to coffee makers, the two brands also introduced a special edition coffee grinder, developed based on the La Marzocco Pico line. The product features a color scheme that matches the coffee maker, and is equipped with 3 memory settings, stepless grind fineness adjustment, and a manual grinding mode.

The grinder also features a magnetic coffee filter handle and a self-closing bean hopper, along with RS identifying details and the collaboration logo between the two brands. The announced price is $2,125 (approximately 56 million VND), excluding tax. Therefore, if purchasing the complete set (coffee machine and grinder), customers will have to spend $10,036, equivalent to approximately 263 million VND, excluding tax and shipping fees.

Not stopping at the two main devices, Porsche also launched a range of coffee-themed accessories to cater to customers who want to own the complete collection. These include a coffee aroma diffuser priced at $135 (approximately 3.5 million VND), and specialized barista paper towels priced at $69 (approximately 1.8 million VND).

The German automaker also sells miniature models of the Porsche 911 Carrera RS 2.7 in colors matching the coffee machine version. Additionally, a set of two espresso cups with saucers costs $105 (approximately 2.7 million VND), while individual cups cost around $35 (approximately 900,000 VND).

With the entire set priced at over 260 million VND, this collection is clearly aimed at wealthy customers and Porsche enthusiasts, rather than the average coffee drinker.

However, the previous batch of Porsche coffee makers sold out in just 8 hours, demonstrating the appeal of products bearing the hallmark of the German sports car brand. Therefore, it’s not unlikely that the new collaboration with La Marzocco will also quickly become sought after by collectors.
