Podgorica police arrested a 17-year-old minor suspected of robbing five people in the Stari Aerodrom neighborhood in September, the Police Directorate (UP) announced.

According to the statement, he is suspected of stealing four mobile phones, money, bags, wallets and personal documents.

“Officers of the Criminal Police Station for Suppression of Property Crime of the Podgorica Security Department, undertaking operational and tactical activities in the field, have solved five criminal offenses of aggravated theft, committed during September to the detriment of five individuals, identified the perpetrator and, upon the order of the Basic State Prosecutor’s Office in Podgorica, deprived a seventeen-year-old minor of his liberty,” the UP statement reads.

They add that he is suspected of approaching injured parties in various parts of the settlement, in the area of ​​the Old Airport, during September.

“…And then he tore mobile phones out of the hands of two people. It is suspected that he stole a mobile phone from the pocket of one injured person, taking advantage of the injured person’s carelessness. It is also suspected that he stole a wallet containing 400 euros and personal documents from one injured person, while he tore a bag with a wallet containing 100 euros, personal documents and a mobile phone from another person,” the statement states.

In this way, the UP said, the minor is suspected of stealing four mobile phones, money, bags, wallets and personal documents, and then selling the stolen mobile phones.

“Police officers have found some of the stolen items and returned them to their owners, while further activities are being undertaken to find the remaining stolen items,” it said.
