England captain Harry Kane has signed a record-breaking new contract with Bayern Munich, the German club have officially confirmed.

New Delhi: Harry Kane has signed a new record-breaking deal and committed his future to Bayern Munich until 2029. The 33-year-old English striker was approaching the last six months of his previous contract, but the club and player were determined to prolong a successful relationship.
According to The Athletic sources, who spoke anonymously and were not authorised to discuss the details publicly, it is the most lucrative deal in Bayern Munich history. They believe that the deal is set to make the England captain Europe’s highest-paid player in terms of salary, although several others are believed to earn more through bonuses.
He won the Ballon d’Or award this year after scoring 73 goals last season. Kane also ended his personal trophy drought by winning the Bundesliga titles in 2025 and 2026, and also won the German Cup last season. The striker netted 100 goals in the Bundesliga in the fewest matches ever, managing to achieve the milestone in just 98 appearances.
Kane also recently equalled the record for the most appearances for England, which was previously held by Peter Shilton since 1990, after making his 125th against Czechia in the most recent international break. He was already England’s top goalscorer with a tally that stands at 91 goals.

‘I love the club, the fans and the city of Munich’
Kane has scored 12 times for Bayern so far in the ongoing season, taking his tally to 156 goals in 161 appearances for the club. After signing the new deal, the striker said that he feels right at home at Bayern Munich. He further added that he’s proud to be part of the club.
“I feel right at home at FC Bayern,” Kane said. “I love the club, the fans and the city of Munich. We have a fantastic team and, in Vincent Kompany, a fantastic manager. It makes me very proud to be part of this club. My whole family is very happy here. I was keen to stay. I’m now looking forward to the future and I want to win many more titles with this great club,” Kane said.
Bayern are at the top of the Bundesliga standings with 18 points, ahead of Borussia Dortmund, who are in second position with the same number of points, with goal difference separating the two clubs.
