FTSE China A50 ends around 12,912 points, up 1.00 percent

The FTSE China A50 finished the November 2 session around 12,912 points, up 1.00 percent, according to XTB. The advance came as mainland Chinese equities rebounded from a weak October and investors assessed fresh policy support.

Liquidity measures lift sentiment

XTB reported that the People’s Bank of China injected 541 billion CNY through overnight repo operations at a fixed rate of 1.25 percent. The report also pointed to a meeting involving financial regulators and major banks on measures intended to support stock buybacks. These developments provided a more constructive backdrop for the index, although the report did not establish that either measure alone determined the index move.

The broader mainland market also ended higher. NAMPA, citing Xinhua, reported that the Shanghai Composite rose 1.08 percent to 3,638.03 points, while the Shenzhen Component gained 1.63 percent to 11,010.68 points. Those benchmarks provide context for the FTSE China A50’s positive session but are separate indices.

Large-cap A-share exposure

The FTSE China A50 is not an exchange-traded fund or a futures contract. As explained by LSEG, it comprises the 50 largest A-share securities listed on the Shanghai and Shenzhen exchanges. The index is free-float market-cap weighted and is used as a benchmark for investment products and derivatives.

For investors, Monday’s rise signals a broad improvement in China equity sentiment rather than a company-specific development. The policy response may help stabilize risk appetite, but the durability of the rebound will depend on follow-through in liquidity conditions, corporate buyback activity and economic data. The FTSE China A50 remains concentrated in large mainland companies, so its performance can differ from Hong Kong-listed China shares and from broader global equity benchmarks.
