Amol Rahan and James Acaster are at risk on Celebrity Traitors (BBC/Studio Lambert/Euan Cherry)
Celebrity Traitors viewers are claiming the BBC has already given away who gets murdered first, after spotting what they call a “huge clue” in the edit.
The premiere ended on a cliffhanger as James Acaster and Amol Rajan were hauled in front of the two Traitors, Maya Jama and Richard E Grant, to learn their fate. With the pair face-to-face with the show’s villains, they had to try and convince the Traitors to save recruite them, or face instant death and become the first person to leave the show.
Fans quickly started dissecting what they’d seen, with several suggesting Rajan’s prominence in the episode was a sign he was about to be eliminated.
One viewer said: “Amol’s diary room bits scream ‘I’m not seeing any more of this,’” while another viewer said: “He got a lot of screen time, think he’s a goner.” A third was even more certain: “Definitely Amol got murdered.”
The decision was left hanging, with Acaster and Rajan waiting to find out whether they would be recruited or murdered. Viewers will have to wait until Friday evening to learn who stays and who goes.
Why do viewers think Amol Rajan is the first murder?
The main theory doing the rounds is down to the edit. Rajan’s early “diary room” moments and heavy screen time feel, to some, like a farewell lap rather than the start of a long run.

Some fans also pointed to earlier reports about Acaster, arguing it suggests he survives beyond the first episode.
According to The Sun, filming had to be paused because Acaster became so anxious during a particularly intense scene, which doesn’t appear to have happened on-screen yet.
One viewer wrote: “Too much in the news about James being so stressed the others in there had to calm him down. So far he hasn’t had time in there for all that. (I guess).”
The celebrity edition has already been playing with expectations. Richard E Grant appeared to give the game away almost instantly, telling Joe Lycett he was a traitor minutes after being selected alongside Jama as one of the first two Traitors.
The Celebrity Traitors continues Thursdays and Fridays at 8pm on BBC One.
