Kate Middleton Had A Secret Celebrity Meeting Ahead Of A ‘Powerful’ New Venture

Kate Middleton is reportedly considering a partnership with an unlikely celebrity.

The Princess of Wales reportedly met with the philanthropist Melinda French Gates twice this year, once at Windsor Castle in June and the second time in London in October, per The Times. But the two were not getting together as a social call. According to the outlet, the women met “to explore joint initiatives supporting well-being and emotional development.”

Furthermore, Middleton might be considering partnering with French Gates on “young people’s development projects” as part of Middleton’s ongoing work in early childhood development. Christian Guy, the executive director of Middleton Royal Foundation Centre for Early Childhood, told The Times, “Groundbreaking research has uncovered something profound yet reassuring: the quality of the relationships we experience throughout our lives influences our health, happiness, and well-being like little else.”

He added, “Together, in close partnership with Melinda’s team at Pivotal, we explored how the Shaping Us framework, developed by the princess alongside more than 100 human development experts from around the world, can help us think about whole-person development at every stage of life.”

Guy added, “We are so grateful for the vision, ambition, and commitment that both the princess and Melinda bring to this work. Their leadership reflects a belief that change is possible, and that investing in the healthy development of children and young people is one of the most powerful investments we can make for our world today and tomorrow.”

Pivotal, founded by French Gates, is focused on philanthropy, investments, and advocacy to help women and young people globally. It sounds like this is the perfect organization to partner with Middleton and her work with kids.

In an October 2025 essay for her Royal Foundation Centre for Early Childhood, Middleton wrote to implore parents to “protect sacred spaces” at home. She said in part, “The quality of our relationships matters more than almost anything else.”

Screen time can impact this, with Middleton adding, “We’re raising a generation that may be more ‘connected’ than any in history while simultaneously being more isolated, more lonely, and less equipped to form the warm, meaningful relationships that research tells us are the foundation of a healthy life.”
